Barry Comprehensive students from years 7, 8 and 9 took part in a ‘Tough Mudder’ style competition to raise money for Help Lanka prior to the Sixth Form trip to Sri Lanka at the end of June.

New Whitmore High School Uniform – Parental Letter & Policy

We are delighted to inform all parents of the new uniform requirements for Whitmore High School next year. This can be ordered immediately from either of our two suppliers. Please note that we are currently working with a designer on the best version of a tie which we feel will fully represent the strengths of the new school; as this is being designed specifically for our school, it will take a little longer to be produced (though it will be ready and in stock before the new term starts).

Additional INSET Days 22 & 29 June 2018

The Vale of Glamorgan has granted Barry Comprehensive and Bryn Hafren two further INSET days this year – Friday 22nd June and Friday 29th June. On these days, students will not attend school and the staff of both schools will engage in essential training and planning related to the opening of Pencoedtre High School and Whitmore High School in September.

In January, several aspiring mathematicians from Barry Comprehensive School were invited to attend a series of mathematics masterclasses given by some of the countries’ most renowned university professors.

Barry Comprehensive School’s Year 9 basketball squad faced Cowbridge Comprehensive in the Cardiff & Vale School Basketball Association u14s final held at Cardiff Metropolitan University on the 25th of April.

Daley Chapman, Deputy Vale Youth Mayor and Member of the Vale Youth Cabinet

Barry Comprehensive School’s Daley Chapman, currently the Vale Deputy Youth Mayor, was recently re-elected by members of the Vale Youth Forum to serve on the Youth Cabinet for a second term.

Daley is currently in Year 12 and studying History, Film and Theatre Studies at A Level, along with the Welsh Baccalaureate.

Joining Daley in the Youth Cabinet are students from Bryn Hafren, Cowbridge, St Cyres, St Richard Gwyn and Ysgol Gymraeg Bro Morgannwg. Continue reading

Unlike the thousands of well-wishers hoping just to catch a glimpse of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Rhys has an invitation to share in part of the Royal Wedding Day!
