Headteacher Gerard McNamara with the GCSE Mathematics double A* grade students

Barry Comprehensive School celebrated last week as almost half their Year 11 students passed their GCSE maths examinations early. Morgan Ackerman 2000 – 2017

Morgan with his mum

Morgan with his mum

It is with great sadness that we report the death of former student Morgan Ackerman.

We offer our deepest sympathy to Morgan’s family and friends.

Morgan completed his GCSEs with us last year; he was a bright young man who went on to study at Barry College.  Morgan was a caring and loyal friend to fellow students and well liked by staff.

The school has organised grieving counselling for staff and pupils.   Students are helping to organise an assembly to celebrate Morgan’s life. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.

The Narrators introducing our hero Mr Gazelle

This year’s Barry Comprehensive School pantomime, “The Panto that goes Wrong”, was set in a fictional school in a fictional town, somewhere in Wales. Any similarities to real people or situations were purely coincidental.  Honestly!

The performance focused on a drama teacher called Mr. Gazelle and his cast of actors as they rehearsed their Continue reading
