Barry Comprehensive School’s global family has grown significantly over the last few years, with very successful links being made to schools in Sri Lanka and Ghana. Students pointed out, that as we already had two sister schools they were hoping for a baby brother this time.

We would now like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the newest member of the family, which is Lwanda Primary School, in Kenya. It is a mixed public school with a total enrolment of just 328 and ages range from 7 to 14.

We hope that this link will give us the opportunity to compare and learn about our different cultures and use this to enrich both of our curriculums.

Students in year 7 and 9 have already been hard at work preparing for this link, by becoming pen pals with a range of students from Lwanda Primary. They have also been planning a Welcome to Barry handbook to show students what life is like here in Wales.
