A Letter from Mr McNamara, Headteacher

Gerard McNamara

Dear Parents/Carers,

It has been my very great privilege to serve as Headteacher of Barry Comprehensive School since 2012. It has been a complete pleasure to have worked and served in our school community.

The school has become very dear to my heart and has been part of my family; I will leave with many great memories of our fantastic students who are always friendly, excited and enthusiastic. They have made me smile every day.

I have thoroughly enjoyed liaising with parents/carers in our joint pursuit to get the very best out of our pupils. Our relationship together has grown over the years and we have much to celebrate. I have valued your backing in our unwavering stance on high expectations throughout the school.

There are many great leaders in the school, who will continue to steer the school community through a successful transformation of co-education in Barry. I have utmost confidence that the school will continue to thrive and flourish.

I am looking forward to A Level and GCSE results on 16 and 23 August respectively, to close our school in style, achieving another set of outstanding results.

Thanks for all your support during my time serving as the school’s headteacher. The school Governors and staff have worked tremendously hard in supporting an aspirational vision which gives our students ambitions and opportunities.

Yours sincerely,

Gerard McNamara
