Barry Comprehensive School may be closing its doors this summer, but staff and students are busy preparing for September.

Part of that preparation is ensuring a smooth transition for the current year 6 pupils who will become Whitmore High School’s first year 7 intake in September.

Recently, the prospective students’ parents attended Transition Evening for a presentation and the chance to chat to teachers about the new school and the new academic year. Last week, the boys and girls from year 6 spent the whole day at the school, attending lessons, meeting teachers and finding their way around with help from current students.

All the students enjoyed the day and were a credit to their primary schools.
