Rhys Horton, currently in Year 13 at Barry Comprehensive School, will be heading to Windsor on the 19 May for a very important event.

Unlike the thousands of well-wishers hoping just to catch a glimpse of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Rhys has an invitation to share in part of the Royal Wedding Day!

Rhys earned his invitation in recognition of his commitment to sustaining high academic standards at school and for his work with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets in Cardiff & the Vale of Glamorgan. Rhys will be wearing his Air Force Cadets Number 1 Dress uniform for the celebration at Windsor Castle.

Mr McNamara, Headteacher, confirmed that many staff and pupils are jealous of Rhys’ invite! “Rhys has worked tremendously hard in school and dedicated numerous weekends supporting and volunteering at various events representing the Royal Air Force Cadets. I’m sure he will bring back great photographs from the wedding”

Rhys said he couldn’t believe it when he opened the envelope and read the invitation. He has decided to take his Father as his plus one.
