Barry Grammar Technical School for Boys opened on Port Road on 3 June 1960.

The school was built and opened at the same time as Barry College of Further Education on Colcot Road.

The programme of events to mark the school opening began at 2pm and saw the County Architect, Mr E. A. E. Evans hand the key to County Alderman Mrs Dorothy M. Rees who formally opened the new school.

You can see a copy of the original booklet published to commemorate the opening here.
