Year 9 boys receiving their prizes

Due to the snow on the 1st of March, Barry Comprehensive School’s St David’s Day celebrations were postponed by a week.

Year 7, 8 and 9 students had a cultural assembly on the 8th of March where they celebrated and learnt more about Dewi Sant, the Patron Saint of Wales. The assembly also recognised the hard work of students with the announcement of the Welsh Department’s competition winners. The school hall was decorated for the event with Welsh symbols and examples of pupils’ competition entries.

Many staff members took up the challenge of trying to pronounce the longest place name in Wales, Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, which everyone found highly entertaining.
