Barry Comprehensive recently welcomed over 200 Year 6 boys and girls to the school for a day of lessons and activities. This year’s primary visit was extra special as the current year 6 pupils will be the first co-educational intake at the new school opening at the Port Road site in September 2018.
The young visitors were chaperoned by sixth form students, who guided them safely between classrooms, studios and other venues. The year 6’s were kept really busy creating literary bunting in Art, using ICT, performing in the drama studio, using their numeracy skills with Smarties, creative writing in English, as well as trying out a whole range of musical activities including samba, ukuleles and Rock School.
The school would like to thank the year 6’s for spending the day with us and also to thank all of the specialists who delivered the amazing range of interesting and enjoyable educational experiences.
