Before May half term, 20 Year 7 and 8 students from Barry Comprehensive attended the Secondary School Education Day at the Hay Festival.
The students, who are either members of the Monday lunchtime Reading Club or who have excelled in the Accelerated Reader Programme, spent the day meeting authors and exploring the festival site.
They attended seminars with authors Kim Slater and Pete Kalu – a highlight being meeting them personally to get autographs!
Many students purchased books and the fine weather meant an ice-cream was a must! The boys returned home enthusiastic and keen to continue reading.
