On Monday the 11th July, the Drama and Music Departments took a group of students to Stratford Upon Avon to watch “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.

This trip was part of curriculum week where students had been exploring the play in music, art and drama lessons. This trip was an opportunity for students to watch a performance of the play at the world famous Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

As well as watching the play, students had the opportunity to explore Stratford, taking in the sights and seeing some of its history including a visit to Shakespeare’s house.

The trip was a huge success and one that the school will be running again next year.  Plans are already under way for this year’s annual Christmas trip to London where we have booked seats to see the award winning plays “The Lion King” and “The Play that goes Wrong”.

This year has been an extremely busy and successful year for the Drama and Music department with various productions taking place throughout the year including: A Night of Improvisation, Survivors Part 2, Young Playwright Competition, Key Stage 3 Concert, Music and Drama Showcase Evening, The Murder Mystery, We Will Rock You, Christmas Concert and Stage and Screen 2016.

Next year plans to be just as busy so keep an eye on the website for updates on future productions and events.
