Barry Comprehensive School’s Annual Presentation Evening was a resounding celebration of success with over 160 students being nominated for awards. These awards were for academic and personal success across the entire curriculum. The use of Barry Memorial Hall highlighted the special nature of the evening, providing talented musical students with the opportunity to showcase their recitals within a truly impressive venue.

Mr Lyn Howell, recently retired and a local resident, returned to compere and was joined by this year’s guest speaker, sportsman and boxer Lee Selby. Lee, a past student of the school, is an outstanding male youth role model and is the current IBF world featherweight champion. His successes, attained not only due to his undoubted skill, but also from his unrelenting work ethic and desire to achieve, serve as a rich stimulus for our students.

As a school we are proud of the close partnerships between school and community and it is the continued support of parents that allows us to continue to build on success. We look forward to celebrating another successful year with the summer examination results.
