Barry Comprehensive School’s Year 12 Biology students recently attended a DNA photocopying workshop at Techniquest.

This workshop allowed students a glimpse of the high-tech world of genetics and biotechnology. Students extracted their own DNA samples from cheek cells and then amplified a section of non-coding DNA using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR).

Our thanks to everyone at Techniquest for a fascinating day.
