A Level high achievers at Barry Comprehensive School

Barry Comprehensive School sixth form students are celebrating another outstanding set of A Level results.

Headteacher Gerard McNamara said, ‘Teachers and governors are delighted with the A Level results. The dedication and hard work of the students has been rewarded. All students who applied to university were offered a place, with nearly 90% securing their first choice. We wish them all every success in the future.’

Particular individual achievements include:

  • Gareth Hurman achieved grades A A A B and will be studying Geology at  the University of Southampton
  • John Frazer achieved grades A A A B and will be studying Business and Management at the University of Reading
  • Emily Perry achieved grades A A B B and will be studying Mathematics and Physics at the University of Bath
  • Laura Williams achieved grades A B B C and will be studying Mathematics, Operational Research and Statistics with professional placement at Cardiff University
  • Joshua Simmons achieved grades A A B and will be studying Japanese and Chinese Studies at SOAS, University of London (The School of Oriental and African Studies)
  • Thomas Durman achieved grades A B B and will be studying Computer Science at Swansea University
