Barry Comprehensive School’s Faculty of Technology would like to congratulate Brandon Froud on receiving the annual South Wales Institute of Engineers Award for Excellence.

Brandon studied Double Award Engineering at GCSE alongside his other subjects. As a result of his successes at GCSE, he is now a member of the Barry Sixth Form studying A Levels in Product Design, Business Studies, ICT and the advanced level Welsh Baccalaureate. Mr Fitzpatrick, Head of the Technology Faculty, nominated Brandon for the annual award which was presented to him along with a cash prize.

Mr Fitzpatrick said, “Brandon excelled in his commitment to improving the quality of his work during practical activities and whilst designing engineered products. He displayed an enthusiastic approach to all aspects of the course and was a supportive member of the team often assisting others with their work. I know Brandon is continuing his studies in the sixth form and should go on to further his studies in the engineering field.”
