Year 13 chatting together in the LRC for the last time

Barry Comprehensive School sixth form students are celebrating another outstanding set of A Level results.

Headteacher Gerard McNamara said, ‘Teachers and governors are delighted with the A Level results.  The dedication and hard work of the students has been rewarded.  This year, every student who applied to university secured a place, gaining access to a variety of courses at top institutions across Britain.  The school achieved 98% A Level pass rate.  We wish them all every success in the future.’

Particular individual achievements include:

  • Jahn Hartland achieved grades A* A* A* A and will be studying Medicine at the University of Southampton
  • James Lofthouse achieved grades A A A B and will be studying Mechanical Engineering at Cardiff University
  • Joel Porter achieved grades Distinction* A A and will be studying Mechanical Engineering at Cardiff University
  • Thomas Stoneman achieved grades A* A* B and will be studying Neuroscience at Cardiff University
  • Daniel Woolford achieved grades A* A B and will be studying English at the University of Exeter
  • Matthew Bohun achieved grades A* A C and will be studying Film and Television Production at the University of York
  • Christopher Nash achieved grades A A C C and will be studying Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University
