GCSE Results 2013

GCSE Results Day 2013 at Barry Comprehensive School

It’s late in August and, once again, a cohort of students arrived at Barry Comprehensive School to receive their GCSE results.

Students who achieved top grades include:

  • Joshua Simmons who achieved thirteen GCSE grades (12 at A* or A grade) and the intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate which is equivalent to 3 GCSE grades at C to A*
  • Owain Evans, who achieved thirteen GCSE grades (12 at A* or A grade) and the intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate which is equivalent to 3 GCSE grades at C to A*
  • John Frazer, who achieved thirteen GCSE grades (12 at A* or A grade) and the intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate which is equivalent to 3 GCSE grades at C to A*
  • Gareth Hurman, who achieved twelve GCSE grades (9 at A* or A grade and 3 at B grade) and the intermediate Welsh Baccalaureate which is equivalent to 3 GCSE grades at C to A*

Headteacher Gerard McNamara said, ‘I am very pleased with the achievements of our students.  Their sustained effort over the last two years has paid dividends.  We look forward to further achievement as students progress to the sixth form. This success would not be possible without the continued commitment of our staff, teaching and non-teaching, who really do go the extra mile for our students. We also need to recognise the support of parents at this very critical time.  There is a real cause to celebrate in Barry and I hope families and their young people take time to celebrate well deserved success.’
