Ok, ok, Shakespeare buffs will know that the quote is lifted from The Tempest, but those who watched Barry Comprehensive School’s version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will know that the quote is very apt as our KS3 drama club took audiences on a magical Shakespearian journey, with their hilarious performance of the famous comedy. The show was a huge success and was highly praised by all who came to see this very special performance.

The younger students relished the opportunity to be able to show the school what they could achieve and, wearing breeches, wings and dresses, spoke Shakespearean ‘language’ with confidence to audiences of over 80 on two consecutive nights.

As a club they really supported each other during rehearsals and demonstrated the meaning of the word teamwork. Mrs. Audra Ellis commented, ‘I am extremely proud of what the children have achieved and feel very privileged to have worked with such a talented group of young performers. I am sure that this will not be the last we see of them on this stage in the years to come. In fact students have already been asking, “So Miss, what are we doing next?” The possibilities are endless!’

KS3 Drama club is open to ALL students in years 7,8 and 9 and we always welcome new members. The club meets every Wednesday after school and finishes at 4:30.
