Celebrating Success 2013

Barry Comprehensive School’s Presentation Evening 2013 was another resounding celebration of success with over 380 students being nominated for awards. As ever, these awards were for success across the entire curriculum, but students were also rewarded for life skills, anti-bullying work and for sporting achievement.

Special guests return every year to award significant prizes to our students, many of them having given years of service to the school. We also take the opportunity to remember past students and their families.

Mr. McNamara, Headteacher, presented at his first Presentation Evening, publically thanking staff, students, governors and parents for their contributions to our recent successful Estyn Report. He also showed a clip of a recent DVD featuring Nicole Cooke describing the extraordinary welcome she had received when visiting Barry Comprehensive School earlier in the academic year. Mr. McNamara described experiencing the same warm welcome he received and referred to the distinctive ethos of pride and energy that exists in our school.

As a school we continue to be proud of the close partnerships between school and community and it is the continued support of parents that allows us to continue to build on success. We look forward to celebrating another successful year in the summer examination results.
