On Thursday 14th April, Max Pruce, Jacob McSheehy, Jacob Thompson, Kai Ludvigsen, Noah McCarthy and Oliver Coborn went to Cardiff University to represent Barry Comprehensive in the annual Faraday Challenge.

To end the spring term, Barry Comprehensive School held yet another ‘In It to Win It’ draw with a range of fantastic prizes on offer for those rewarded with raffle tickets.

Barry Comprehensive School was once again well represented at the Formula 1 in Schools regional competition at Swansea University by two strong teams on Thursday 24 March.

Another challenge involved each team providing a pre-flight safety briefing in a full size mock-up of an aircraft cabin

Barry Comprehensive School engineers were awarded ‘Team of the Day’ on day one of the annual Aeronautical Schools Challenge run by Cardiff and Vale College.

The team of six Year 10 students competed against other schools from Cardiff and the Vale to solve a range of engineering problems.

Well done gentlemen.

On Tuesday 1st March six geology students from the school travelled to Whitchurch High School in Cardiff to take part in the Welsh final of the BGS Schools’ Geology Challenge. As part of the event each team had to prepare a poster on this year’s topic: ‘Water’s Role in Geological Processes’. In addition to this they had to deliver a five minute presentation on the topic and then show their skills in a geological quiz. Continue reading
