GCSE Trip – Observing the ‘Three Chimneys’ feature

Over two weeks in late January and early February GCSE and AS level Geology students have undertaken important fieldwork trips as part of their respective courses.

The GCSE geologists stayed at Broadhaven overnight and undertook two days of fieldwork looking at the rocks, minerals and fossils in the area. We visited Marloes Sands, Broadhaven, Newgale and Solva to investigate the geological history of the area. Continue reading

Two Barry Comprehensive School students represented the school in the Cardiff Cross Challenge for Cardiff and the Vale Schools on Sunday 17 January.

Joseph Hewings (Year 10) and Jack Blackmore (Year 8) ran extremely well, with Jack finishing in 45th place in the Under 15 Boys Schools event and Joseph finishing in 3rd place in the Under 17 Men’s event. Continue reading

At the end of term, the Languages faculty celebrated the progress and achievement of students in French, Welsh and Italian.

Students from Years 7, 8 and 9 were invited to join their language teachers for a special ‘breakfast’ in Room 200 during break time, where they received certificates for effort and achievement.  Continue reading

In the endeavour to promote positive attendance, punctuality, behaviour and excellence in subject areas we at Barry Comprehensive involved Year 7, 8 and 9 in an ‘In it to win It’ styled raffle.
